GDPR Policy

We take privacy and security of your data very seriously and from May 25th 2018 new data privacy laws come into effect. The General Data Protection Regulations (or GDPR) is designed to give you more control over our personal data, how this is used and how companies look after it.

GDPR applies to every company in the European Union that uses or processes personal data. We believe these changes are positive and help to better protect your personal data.

1- By accepting these Terms and Conditions the Consumer (you) enters an automatic binding contract agreement with UK Laminate Stairs Limited for the supplies of goods referred to on our website www.uklaminatestairs.co.uk. By ordering our products (goods) you accept & agree the terms and conditions stated 

2-By placing an order through the site, you warrant the following:

  • You are legally capable of entering binding contracts
  • You are at least 18 years of age

You must not seclude or commerce any installation work until after you have received all your goods from the order and checked all the goods for any defects, missing parts or damages. 

All products are subject to updates and developments made via the manufacturers.


3-We are required by law to ensure that when processing any of your personal data that it is:

  • Used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way
  • Collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you
  • Personal data to be accurate and kept up to date
  • Kept securely
  • Kept in a form which permits you to be identified for only as necessary for the valid purpose

To process quotations and sales enquiries we receive and store the following information about you:

  • Your name, address and contact details, including email and telephone number;
  • Details of other addresses linked to you or your client(s) which may be required for delivery purposes;
  • Email communications relating to enquiries and sales. You can choose not to provide certain information, but this may limit the accuracy of quotations or prohibit the successful processing of sales

We do not rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses - we use a third-party provider, mail chimp, to deliver our newsletter.


Delivery Terms

4- UKLS will deliver the goods in your order to the address you provide for delivery

5- We will attempt to deliver the goods within 1-28 working days from the date the order was placed. Shall this not be possible we will endeavour to keep you informed and to secure the earliest possible delivery date

6- Giving us the incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order

7- We will contact the you to arrange a delivery date

8- The customer must ensure that reasonable access is available. Deliveries will be to ground floor only. Sometimes pallet trucks are not available or cannot be used so pallets may have to be opened and decanted at the point of delivery. You must ensure that someone will be available to upload the truck (available person/persons to do heavy lifting)

9- UK Laminate Stairs Ltd cannot be held responsible for any direct or indirect expenses caused due to late delivery. We will always do everything in our power to keep to a delivery date, but there may be reasons outside of our control that may cause delays.

10- Late delivery does not constitute a reason for the Customer to cancel the contact or refuse payment

11- UK Laminate Stairs Ltd remains responsible the legal owner of the goods until delivered, at which time the customer takes responsibility for the goods.

12- The Customer acknowledges that delivery to the delivery address does not include delivery to a specific person

13- We will not be responsible for any loss or damage where the goods are correctly delivered to the delivery address, but where any person misrepresents their authority to receive the consignment on behalf of the customer

14- Please be aware that most of our products are heavy items and require assistance to offload. You must ensure that at least one able bodied person is available to offloads

15-  If the customer is not available to receive the delivery, they may be charged for Re-Delivery Charges

16- Your goods may arrive in more than one delivery

It is advised that the customer inspects goods upon delivery, any claims of missing items must be reported immediately to UK Laminate Stairs Ltd

17- UK Laminate Stairs Ltd will not be liable for damages occurred while unloading the goods at the delivery address

18- It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the uploading of the goods is made with due care and diligence


Claims procedure

19- All goods must be examined by the customer at the time of delivery. The signing of the delivery not shall be conclusive evidence as to his acceptance of the goods which are in order, undamaged and correct as to quality specification. UK Laminate Stairs Ltd shall not be liable in any way for any discrepancies, shortages or incorrect specifications, quality or otherwise, unless the same are noted clearly on the delivery documents by the customer upon receipt.

If goods are damaged during transit, UK Laminate Stairs Ltd will not be liable for their replacement, unless the damage is 

Noted on the carrier’s delivery documents, and reported immediately to UK Laminate Stairs LTD

20- The packaging must be examined for damage in transit and if there is any it must be noted at time of signature on the delivery documents.

21- UK Laminate stairs Ltd will not be liable for damages occurred during unloading the goods at the delivery address

22- It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the unloading of goods is made with due care and diligence

23- Items that are replaced due to damage, manufacturing faults, or any other reason, will be subject to normal delivery lead times. We will make reasonable effort to reduce the lead time, but can accept no liability for subsequent delays or consequential losses

24- All claims for damages must be support by photographic evidence and sent to us

No Nonsense Returns & Refund policy

Returning unwanted goods

Goods ordered in error, surplus to requirements or unsuitable may be returned to us within 21 days of receipt on condition that they have not been used or fitted and they are undamaged in the original packaging. This excludes special order or made to measure items. You will only be refunded your delivery cost if the return is as a result or error (e.g. faulty product, or incorrect shipment). If we agree to provide you with a refund, we will credit your credit/debit card account within 30 days of receipt of the returned product. Goods ordered in error, surplus to requirements or unsuitable will be subject to a 15% handling charge.

25- All unwanted goods can be returned for a refund but must be returned within 28 days after the delivery date. No refund will be issued on non-stock or specially ordered products.

26- The customer must inform us of this wish either by post or email within this timescale

27- All goods should be returned as received. They should be returned unused and undamaged in the original packaging materials or an equivalent, together with any paperwork that was included with them. (Please note that you have a legal obligation to take care of the goods whilst they are in your possession, and we may have a right to claim compensation from you if you do not do this)

28- For whatever reason you need to return goods, please contact us before returning them so we can agree with you the most practical way of ensuring your requirements are satisfied

29- Once we received the returned goods we will inspect them and refund accordingly

30- We will refund any money received from you using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase

31- The customer will be responsible for arranging delivery of the goods back to UK Laminate Stairs Ltd

32- You may cancel your order prior to dispatch either by calling us or emailing us

33- If goods arrive back to us in damaged condition which was not declared as the reason for the return a refund will not be provided



34- Our liability to you in connection with any goods purchased through the site is strictly limited to the purchase price of the goods in question

35- UK Laminate stairs Ltd shall not be liable to the customer in contract, common law or otherwise for any of the following losses or damages, arising out of, or in connection with the supply, non-supply or delay in supplying the goods otherwise in connection with the contract:

a. Loss of income or revenue;

b. Loss of business

c. Loss of profits or contracts

d. Loss, costs, damage, costs or expenses incurred by the customer because of third party claims;

e. Loss of actual or anticipation

f. Loss of actual or anticipated profits;

g. Loss of anticipation savings;

h. Loss of goodwill;

I. Injury to reputation;

j. Loss of production;

k. Loss of contribution

l. Waste of management or office time however arising and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise;

m. Loss of life

n. or any indirect, special or consequential loss or damage howsoever caused

36- UK Laminate Stairs Ltd will not be liable for any loss or delays arising from circumstances beyond our control



37- Communicating with you in writing

In certain circumstances, the law requires that we must communicate with you in writing. When using the site, you accept that our principal means of communicating with you will be electronic. We will contact you by email or provide you with information by posting notices for the site. For the purposes of your contract with us, you agree to our communicating with you by electronic means, and you acknowledge that any contracts, notices, information and other communications that we provide to you by those means comply with any legal requirements that such communications be in writing. Your statutory rights are not affected

39- Law and Jurisdiction

Contracts for the purchase of goods through the site will be governed by English law. Andy dispute arising from, related to, such contracts (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.


Guarantee Terms and Conditions

The Manufacturer of the product range provides a 5-year guarantee for the "Rounded one" a 10-year guarantee for the "Square one".

The product guarantee is only applicable to production defects, hidden manufacturing defects and acknowledged defects in the material used during the manufacture of these products. Defects will only be accepted if installation and maintenance have been carried out in accordance with the product instructions. An additional requirement here is that the environmental conditions where the products are located must comply with what is set out in the installation instructions (contact with water, humidity, etc). The products may not be installed in areas subject to extreme humidity or temperatures. Moisture, even during maintenance, must be avoided always.

A damp cloth must be used for maintenance purposes across all product ranges

As is customary, all processed materials are considered to have been accepted. Liability is limited to hidden defects, meaning defects that were not visible before during the installation of the stair covering. This signifies all products must be thoroughly checked for visible defects both before and during installation in an area with sufficient lighting. Products with visible defects must be returned to the distributor within 14 days of purchase. They will be replaced upon delivery of the damaged products. Such replacement only applies for the defective product. Any other damage and/ or costs incurred will be for the account of the buyer.

The guarantee provided applies exclusively for installation in rooms used for private purposes. Private use is understood to mean indoors, in a home which is only used for private purposes (residential use). An individual written guarantee must be requested from the manufacturer for other applications.

Any colour degradation over time is considered normal. A reduction is colour and shine over time is considered normal. Slight colour differences among the products are inherit to the manufacturing process.

All defects involving manufacturing errored, hidden manufacturing defects and acknowledged defects in materials used during the manufacture of the products, which may consequently qualify under our guarantee, must be notified in writing to the product distributor within days of establishing such defects.

Any damage to the product that was not already present at the time the product was purchased is not covered by the guarantee.

The following matters are not covered by this guarantee:

  • Improper installation of the stair components, i.e. they were not installed in accordance with the instructions
  • Improper removal or replacement of the tread boards i.e. they were not removed or replaced in accordance with the instructions
  • Failure to comply with the maintenance instructions indicated on the website
  • Damaged caused by sand or dust on the stairs
  • Damaged caused by incorrect use of product
  • Damage such as scratches, for example caused by falling objects

Bringing in sand and/ or if that ends up on the floor must be avoided by placing a suitable at the entrance doors. If it established that this has not been done properly, the buyer will not be able to submit a claim under the guarantee. 

Stagnating moisture on the stairs or around the joints and/or maintenance with excessive moisture and/ or the use of non-suitable maintenance product must always be avoided. If it is established that this has not been complied with, the buyer will not be able to submit a claim under the guarantee.

All notifications of defects must include a complete case file. This file must contain a description of the problem, a description of the area in the home where the defect is located, clear, photographs of the problem and any information about when it occurred. This file must also include the original purchase invoice.

The manufacturer reserves the right to inspect the source of the complaint on site.
